Diversity of Daylilies + Youth Sensory Garden Challenge
June 27, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Join us as Garry Patterson presents the “Diversity of Daylilies”. The complex world of daylilies explained from a gardener’s perspective.
Antique & modern daylilies are the most varied and versatile garden perennials available today for local gardeners. And he will take us on a journey to discover this world! Garry has been involved with the Ontario Daylily Society since it was founded around 1997. He is also a 25-year member of the American Daylily Society (American Hemerocallis Society) which is the world authority for registered cultivars of hemerocallis/daylilies.
Over 32 years on his Brock township farm he has built a stunning collection of daylilies. He now has and works with approximately 500 cultivars for breeding (hybridizing) purposes and has between 1500-1600 daylily seedlings in various stages of development at any given time. Garry does not maintain a display garden, but refers to his working collections as “An industrial garden” and as such his gardens are not usually open to the public. We hope you will join us as Garry shares with us the diverse world of daylilies available for the home gardener.
