Growing up on the family farm in Southern Ontario, Elizabeth was always surrounded by plants and nature. This had influenced her desire to learn more about horticulture. Eventually this interest led to an accreditation of Judge of Horticulture and Design with the RBG and GCO respectively, and an OHA Judges’ certification.
Her interest and passion for roses specifically, inspired her to become an accredited CRS rose judge.
She is past president of the Canadian Rose Society and is still an active member in that society as well as her local rose society, the Hamilton and Burlington Rose Society. Elizabeth also served on the Standardization Committee of the World Federation of Rose Societies.
Currently Elizabeth is Flower Show chair and Newsletter Editor for the Burlington Horticultural Society and
hosts many meetings via ZOOM. By sharing her passion for the Queen of Flowers, Elizabeth hopes to
encourage gardeners, of all skills, to include at least one rose in their home landscape.
