The next meeting of the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society is on Tuesday, June 21st and will be held in person at the Pretty Street Community Centre (2 Pretty Street, Stittsville K2S 1N4). The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm.
Our guest speaker this month is Master Gardener Lee Ann Smith, who will give her presentation “High Performance, Low Maintenance Plants.” She will discuss what makes a plant “high performance” and what “low maintenance” means, plus what plants meet the definition, including both the “usual suspects” and lesser known plants. Lee Ann will also explain how to assess an existing garden when redesigning for higher performance/lower maintenance. She will also share a “Top Tip” for getting the most performance in your garden for the least maintenance.
Lee Ann is a member of the Master Gardeners of Ottawa Carleton and has been an active gardener in Ottawa for over 40 years. The beauty found in nature continues to inspire her, as a gardener as well as a poet and photographer. She studies Horticulture and Landscape Design at the University of Guelph and contributes regularly to Master Gardener advice clinics and newsletters.
Although Covid-19 restrictions are no longer in place, we would respectfully request that you wear a mask during the meeting.
If you are not a member and would like to attend free as a one-time guest, or if you would like to become a member, please send an email to [email protected] with your request. Annual membership is $15 per person or $25 per family.
