The next meeting of the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society is on Tuesday, May 17th and will take place on Zoom. The Zoom portal will open at 7:00 pm with the meeting starting at 7:30 pm.

Our guest speaker this month is Master Gardener Judith Cox, who will give her presentation “How to Grow Tomatoes: From Seeds to Salsa.” Judith will talk about how to start tomatoes and maintain them so that they become the best they can be. She will discuss pollinators, diseases and pests, as well as the best growing situations for tomatoes. Judith also has a favourite salsa recipe to share!

Judith has been president of the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society since 2020. She has always loved working with plants and enjoys sharing that love with others. Heritage vegetables, roses, herbs and fairy gardens are her favourites. After working for 15 years as the gardener for Saunders Farm, she now works as a garden consultant during the growing season and volunteers at Master Gardener advice clinics at local farmer’s markets. In the winter Judith gives lectures on a variety of gardening subjects at local horticultural societies and writes for local magazines and publications. She is also a small business entrepreneur, selling her watercolour/pen and ink cards at www.lapisdragonarts.com.

Society members will be emailed the Zoom meeting invite. If you are not a member and would like to attend free as a one-time guest, or if you would like to become a member, please send an email to [email protected] with your request. Annual membership is $15 per person or $25 per family.

Please join us for what is sure to be an inspiring evening.
