Included on this year’s tour are the gardens of Liz Primeau, author of Front Yard Gardens: Growing More Than Grass and In Pursuit of Garlic: An Intimate Look at the Divinely Odorous Bulb, and Douglas Markoff, Executive Director of the Riverwood Conservancy, the 60-hectare nature preserve and public gardens on the East Bank of the Credit River.
In total eight homeowners in the Applewood Acres and Orchard Heights areas have graciously agreed to open their beautiful spring gardens for viewing by ticket holders in support of the fight against cancer. The Tour will take place on Sunday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s Tour will also include a plant sale with proceeds donated to the Canadian Cancer Society and a Master Gardener will be on hand at one of the gardens to answer your questions. To further enhance visitors’ experience, music students from Mentor College will be performing in selected gardens throughout the day.
Last year’s Tour raised over $8,000 and we’re hoping to beat that amount for this year.
