Nine beautiful Grimsby gardens for garden enthusiasts and devotees to enjoy on July 13. We are proud to feature the Winner of Canada’s Backyard Contest 2018. Along with this above-escarpment delight are gardens with butterfly and bee plantings and with native plants. In every garden are numerous varieties of interesting plants, trees and perennials. Grimsby has a moderate climate and fertile soil, so tree specimens are significant here.
Whether you are an avid gardener or someone with an affection for flowers and plants, this is a special tour. Consider planning ahead for lunch at Casa Toscana in the middle of town, where a special-priced menu for those who RSVP is in the works. If you enjoy exploring unique gift shops, visit Objects to Desire, one of our Bronze sponsors. You will find many one-of-a-kind specialty pieces, jewellery and artwork. Make sure you visit our Gold sponsor Cole’s Florist and Garden Centre where discounts on the large selection of plants and accessories await garden tour participants. Consider a side trip to the Painted Ladies in Grimsby Beach, in close proximity to some of our tour gardens.
We’re just a few minutes to Peninsula Ridge Winery, which commands beautiful views of Lake Ontario and is situated on Highway 8 at Greenlane Road. Turn onto Greenlane to go to Hildreth’s Market Farm where local produce and home-made pies are the attractions.
Rain or Shine. No dogs allowed.
Tickets $20.00 cash available at Cocoon and Cole’s, 145 Main Street East.
